Community Impact

From the beginning, our vision has been rooted in making compassionate, evidence-based treatment for anxiety and OCD more accessible and coming together as a team to make a positive impact in our community. Our values of trust, equity, humility, excellence, joy, and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do and drive every decision we make.

Clinical Training

When Austin Anxiety and OCD Specialists was founded over a decade ago few therapists in our community were trained to provide evidence-based treatment for OCD. Due to a lack of public awareness of OCD, stigma, lack of properly trained clinicians, and financial barriers to treatment, on average, it was estimated that people were living with OCD for 14-17 years before receiving a proper diagnosis and treatment. This was unacceptable to us, so we set out to help change that. Since that time we have provided over 37,000 hours of formal, supervised clinical training through our postdoctoral fellowship program. Our postdoctoral fellows have become licensed psychologists who are now doing amazing work from the East Coast to the West Coast. Our partnership with the University of Texas and our no-cost OCD Clinical Consultation group has allowed us to extend our reach even further.

Not-So-Spooky Halloween Fun House

In collaboration with our generous sponsors throughout the community, Austin Anxiety and OCD Specialists will host a Not-So-Spooky Halloween Fun House from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, October 25th. Our Halloween Fun House is a no-cost event open to everyone in the community with a mission:

  • to create a fun, safe, and inclusive environment for children experiencing anxiety and OCD to celebrate Halloween.

  • to increase awareness and decrease stigma associated with anxiety and OCD.

  • to disseminate evidence-based resources making them available to children, teens, and families in our local community who may not otherwise be able to access them.

Get in Touch.

If there is something our team may be able to do to support your non-profit organization, please get in touch with us. Organizations with a focus on children and teens, mental health, education, equity, inclusion, and accessibility are especially important to us. Please note, that we receive a high volume of requests and, while we would love to help everyone, the primary way we serve our community is through our clinical services and training, so we are limited in the number of requests we can accept. Requests are evaluated by our leadership team quarterly.
